2009 Midwest Treffen Info

2009 Midwest Pinzgauer Treffen Information

We are pleased to announce the first ever Midwest Pinzgauer Treffen, May 28-31, 2009, at McCaslin Mountain Campground. Come and camp, drive your Pinzgauer, and enjoy the Wisconsin northwoods. You don't own a Pinzgauer yet? Well, plan to come along anyway, and get a ride in one. Or bring your own Jeep or truck and drive with us!

We're planning opportunities to drive in groups or individually, both on-road and off, for Friday and Saturday. Many people plan to arrive Thursday, May 28th and depart Sunday, May 31, although some folks may choose to come early and/or stay later.

To simplify things and to accomodate everyone's various schedules, we're asking you to make your own reservations at the campground. Reservations can be made by calling McCaslin Mountain Campground at (715) 757-3734 or (715) 757-2561. Please read their General Campground Info and Rate Info for the details.

For those who choose not to rough it, McCaslin Mountain also has a log cabin and a few campers for rent. Contact them for availability on these.

McCaslin Mountain offers a great opportunity to drive your truck off road. Lots of pictures can be found at Badgerland4x4 and Pirate4x4. There will be some mud holes, but the trails are expected to be fairly dry by May 28.

NOTE: If you want to drive your truck off-road, your truck must meet McCaslin Mtn.'s OFF-ROAD TRUCK RULES, which are included in their General Campground Info. Pleast note that Pinzgauers do not need a receiver type hitch, as the rules state. The stock rear pintle hitch and front drop-pin are sufficient. Pinzgauers will need all the other items listed under '#5 Safety'.

There is a charge of $10/day per truck for off-road operation.

DOGS: Some other Treffens no longer allow dogs to attend, for various reasons. McCaslin's allows dogs (see Rules), and we will too. But if you bring yours, please be responsible, follow the rules, and control your dog/s. Let's avoid the problems that could cause dogs to be banned!

Please check back periodically, as this page will be updated as plans progress. Hope to see you there!

Info on private Pinzgauer-only activities will be posted on our Discussion Site (membership required). But, if you own a Pinzgauer, you are probably member already. If not, join up.
